Blue Lake was a good day of fishing, for Blue Lake  ;).  Most teams had a full bag of 8 bass.    

First went to Derek Stish and Jake Lehman with 22.85 pounds of bass and the big bass weighing in at 4.15 pounds.  Thats a great bag for Blue Lake, great job guys.  Second went to Rick Jansen and son with 20.40 pounds of bass.  Third was Stu and Matt Dye with 20.35 pounds.   

This is a great group of anglers and each event has been great.  Thanks everyone.  See ya at the next event at Island Lake, Duluth, MN July 16th.

Ely Lake was another great day of fishing.  Almost all teams had a full bag of 8 bass, ALL fish were released alive and well.

First today by over 3 pounds, went to Joe Bonelli and Mike Hogstrom with 17.95 pounds of bass and the big bass weighing in at 3.0 pounds.  Great job guys.  Second went to Jeff and Jason Wefel with 14.40 pounds of bass. 

This was another GREAT day of fishing.  See ya at the next event at Blue Lake, Nashwauk, MN June 13th.

Great weather, teams and a growing group watching our weigh-ins, made a great start to the year.  Most teams had a full bag of 8 bass, ALL fish released alive and doing great, and only one team with boat troubles.   

First went to Scott Dye and Mark Garrelts with 25.70 pounds of bass.  Great job guys.  Second went to Sharaku Kishida and Johnston Westmoreland with 25.20 pounds of bass and the big bass with a 4.0 smallmouth. 

This was our first event with an 8 fish limit and a GREAT success.  See ya at the next event at Ely Lake June 12th.

Cold and windy weather, plus water temps that dropped over 20 degrees in just a couple weeks, made this bite the toughest of the year.  But still two teams put together an 8 fish bag. 

First went to Pete Hussman and Andy Wick with 25.05 pounds of bass.  Great job guys.  Second went to Al Ansell and Doug Pirila with 15.65 pounds of bass. 

This was our first event with an 8 fish limit and our last for 2009.  See ya next year and we hope some of you decide to join our BASS club and earn a shot at the State BASS Tournament of Champions.

Well we had rain, wind and a great group of anglers, plus some good fishing.  Lake Vermilion definitely has a lot of bass to catch and many found them, both smallmouth and largemouth bass.

Congrats to Al and Doug on a great bag.  A great Smallmouth Bass took the big fish pot.  Great job, we hope to see ya guys again.

First went to Al Ansell and Doug Pirila with 17.25 pounds of bass.  2nd to Mike Lebsack and Rainer Raaska with 15.75 pounds.  3rd to Darin and Derek Stish with 15.65 pounds.  The Big Bass Winners were Jeff Lang and Gary Stanzyak with a 4.35 pound smallmouth.

Well it was another great group of anglers and the weather got hot and sunny, completely different than all our prefishing.  But still there were nice bags put together.   

Congrats to Pete and Greg on a great bag weighing 17.05 pounds.  They also took the big fish pot with a bass weighing 4.0 pounds, so they cleaned up.  Great job, we hope to see ya guys again.  2nd to Mike Lebsack and Rainer Raaska with 16.0 pounds.  3rd to Al Ansell and Doug Pirila with 15.65 pounds.

Ultimate Angler Challenge Bass fishing tournament.

Today was a great event, lots of new teams and many bags of bass caught.  The tough bite made for smaller weights and very close weights.  Still Pat Day and Ross Korpela worked for it and caught the fish to win coming in with 12.6 pounds of bass.   

Our big fish winners were Jason and Jeff Wefel with a bass weighing in at 3.95 pounds.

Well our first tournament is over and it was a great success.  The winds were high again and several had issues with their trolling motors.  But all but one team still brought in a limit of  bass.  Great job.

First place today went to Pat Day and Ross Korpela with 12.90 pounds of bass.  2nd to Joe Bonelli and Mike Hogstrom.  3rd to Brian and Dennis Stevenson.

Even with the tough bite today, there were lots of bass brought in and many limits.  Great job to everyone.

The winners were Dennis and Brian Stevenson with a 5 bass limit weighting in at 10.35 pounds.  They were our only father-son team and they pulled it off.  Very nice job.  Second place went to Pat Day and Brandon Sell with 10 pounds of bass.

With the wet weather and this being new to many of our teams this lake produced some nice bags and fish.  We will have to return to get the big ones to the landing.   

The winners were Pat Day and Brandon Sell with a 5 bass limit weighting in at 12.45 pounds. We hope to see you all at more events.

Ameriprise Financial sponsored this event and it was a great success.  Thanks to Tyler Kocon we had awesome prime rib dinners, door prizes and a great informational session for everyone. 

The winners were Ross Korpela and John Adkins with a 5 smallmouth bass limit weighting in at 12.45 pounds.  Second place went to Brad and Todd Larsen with 12.40 pounds.  Eight teams had 5 bass limits, great fishing everyone.  We hope to see you all at more events.

Well the Ultimate Angler Challenge Bass Series moved on to an event on beautiful Lake Vermilion.  Lake Vermilion had some lots of water, smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing, great weather and great people.  We launched out of the public launch near the Wakemup Campgrounds on the west end of the lake, near Cook Minnesota.

The winners were Mark Charpentier and Mr. Hanson with a 5 bass limit weighting in at 13.65 pounds and the Big Bass weighting in at 4.10 pounds, a good weight for any lake.  Second place went to the Rick and Terri Jansen with 13.35 pounds.  Very good weights and a SUPER group of anglers.  We hope to see you all at more events.

Well the Ultimate Angler Challenge Bass Series second event was a fun event and we saw lots of bass.  Minnewawa Lake had some great fishing, tough weather and great people.  We launched out of the public launch near Growlers on the west end of the lake.

The winners were Jamie Johnson and Daniel Peterson with a 5 bass limit weighting in at 16.50 pounds and the Big Bass weighting in at 4.15 pounds, a good weight for any lake.  Second place went to the Lebsacks with 16.00 pounds.

Well the Ultimate Angler Challenge Bass Series is officially off and running.  Fish Lake had some great fishing, weather and people.  We launched out of the public launch at the dam.   

The winners were Al Ansell (Moose Lake) and Doug Pirila (Proctor) with a 5 bass limit weighting in at 15.85 pounds, a good weight for any lake.  Second place went to Ouitdee and Lee Carson (both of Duluth) with 13.90 pounds and the Big Bass weighting in at 4.3 pounds. 

Ultimate Angler Challenge Multispecies fishing tournament.   

Well the Ultimate Angler Challenge Multispecies Series is officially off and running.  Island Lake was still very cold and the fishing slow for most teams.  It was windy and cold.  We launched from the dam ramp on the west end of the lake at 8 am.  

After 7 hours of fishing our winners were Mike Grindahl and Erick Filby (both of Duluth).  They had 5 species including a limit of smallmouth bass (upto 19 inches), a limit of crappies (upto 12.5 inches), a walleye, 2 northern pike and a sucker.  That's a great bag for the conditions.  Great job guys.
